This year saw a variety of thrilling releases, from the suspenseful Stranger Things to the touching and humorous Sex Education. While fans of the Regency era delighted in Season Two of Bridgerton, thrill-seekers like us were welcomed into the unsettling realm of The Watcher. Based on actual events, The Watcher follows a family as they settle into a seemingly ideal suburban home. But the family soon realises they’re in for some Netflix-prescribed trouble when they start receiving threatening letters in the mail from someone going by “The Watcher.”

This show is for you if you enjoy seeing stories of women who see horrifying things and then go insane while trying to tell others what they saw. This comedy-thriller starring Kristen Bell parodies this cliché while solving its own bizarre mystery.
The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On
What would you do if your partner demanded an immediate marriage or a breakup? This reality show is based on that query, and let me tell you, it makes for some fantastic television. Six couples are featured in The Ultimatum who test their compatibility by switching partners in a social experiment aimed to determine whether they are actually prepared for marriage.
Legacies
Legacies centres around Hope Mikaelson, a descendant of some of the most potent vampire, werewolf, and witch families and the daughter of Klaus Mikaelson and Hayley Marshall. Hope, a 17-year-old student at the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted, attends the school two years after the events of The Originals. Legacies Season 5’s release date has not arrived yet.
Archive 81
Archive 81 is the ideal watch if you’re one of the many great lovers of cult narratives or one of the numerous addicts to unsettling podcasts. An archivist who has been tasked with recovering a number of broken tapes quickly finds out that the recordings are of a satanic sect. He will need to battle against falling into the trap himself while he searches for the truth.
After Life
Fans may find it difficult to say goodbye to this dark comedy, whose final season was released in January, given that it is centred around sorrow. Tony, a widower who must navigate life after losing his wife, is portrayed by Ricky Gervais, who also serves as the series’ writer and director. As he deals with the death of his father in the most recent run of episodes, Tony experiences a new phase of grief.
Ozark
Most of us wouldn’t have believed Jason Bateman would be the lead in the upcoming gripping television drama years ago. (Not all forecasts were accurate.) However, in the fourth and last season of Ozark, America’s favourite criminal duo met the end of their cunning this spring. At least on Netflix, though.

They hate to see a girlboss winning, as the Internet keeps reminding us. This is especially true if the girlboss is a fraudster. No, we’re not talking about Elizabeth Holmes; instead, we’re referring to Anna Delvey, who is considered to be New York’s favourite false heiress. After being apprehended in 2017, Delvey’s life of glitz and grand theft took a sharp turn. The controversial Shondaland dramatisation, which stars Julia Garner, Anna Chlumsky, and Laverne Cox, is based on Jessica Pressler’s widely circulated exposé for The Cut.

Love Is Blind
Love Is Blind, a reality dating programme that began in 2020 and seems to be built specifically for love in the Covid-19 era, has returned for a second season of pod romances. The new season maintained the same premise as the previous one, in which candidates got to know one another without being able to meet one another. However, this season is full of fresh surprises.
The Umbrella Academy
The third season of the popular time-travelling superhero show The Umbrella Academy, based on the comic strips of Gerard Way, premiered in 2022. The new season prominently emphasises the Sparrow Academy, a new collective that was unintentionally founded as a result of a mistake the Umbrella Academy committed while time travelling, as hinted to at the end of the second batch of episodes.
