Artisphere

The 10th Anniversary of the Artisphere festival will bring more than 100 national and regional artists to the town of Greenville, SC. During the three-day event, more than 70,000 people attended. The festival features visual, performing, and culinary arts, with a projected economic impact of more than $5 million. A wine tasting event and a gala at the Marriott are also planned. This year, the festival will mark its 10th Anniversary with a special wine and beer tasting event.

Throughout the three-day festival, patrons can view more than 135 juried visual artists working in 17 mediums. These works provide a unique opportunity to see the art-making process up close. The festival includes Kidsphere, Live Art Demonstrations, Street Chalk Art, and a Culinary Arts Cafe. The festival also includes five local restaurants and murals.

Elias B. Holloway mural

One of Greenville’s most recent public art projects is a mural honoring Elias B. Holloway, who advocated for a park on Greenville’s West and Southern sides decades ago. The mural was unveiled at the Juneteenth Celebration, which celebrates the end of slavery in the U.S. and the legacy of Greenville’s forbearers.

The mural is located at the historic CCNB Amphitheater at Heritage Park. Tickets are available now, and many special events are planned throughout the weekend. Check back often for updates on special events and artist announcements. In the meantime, I plan to enjoy the music and the mural. Here’s what to expect at this year’s Greenville Country Music Fest. We hope to see you there!
