CUET Analysis: An Overview

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the CUET exam in 2 phases. Phase 1 was held on July 15, 16, 19 and 20. The second phase will be on August 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10. Our experts will share all the important information through CUET analysis.

The exam is conducted in a computer-based mode. Students must check the CUET Analysis 2022 to track their chances of clearing the exam or if they have to face any hindrance.


CUET Analysis

CUET started on 15 July 2022. The first shift was conducted in different centres across the country. The questions are objective and asked in 13 languages. The NTA administers Common University Entrance Test. CUET is conducted for admission to various undergraduate programmes at 44 central universities and 46 other institutions.

CUET Analysis: Syllabus

Thorough knowledge of the syllabus is very important while analysing the CUET Analysis. It helps the candidates know what questions were from the syllabus and what was not. It helps the candidates know the syllabus updates and what kind of pattern and questions to expect from the exam.

The CUET syllabus is given below. Candidates must go through the syllabus before going through the CUET Analysis 2022.


Section 1A:  English, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odiya, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, Hindi and Kannada.


Section 1B: Spanish, German, Nepali, French,  Persian, Italian, Arabic, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Kashmiri, Konkani, Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, Manipuri, Santhali, Tibetan, Japanese, Russian, and Chinese.

Candidates can choose any one language from Section 1A and Section 1B. The language test will be based on Literary Aptitude, RC and Vocabulary.


Section 2: The domain section has 27 subjects. Out of these 27 subjects, candidates can choose any 6 based on their stream and college/university of choice. The questions will be MCQ type.


Section 3: The General Test includes General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning and Logical and Analytical Reasoning. The questions will be Multiple Choice Types.

English Language

  • Reading Comprehension consisted of 3 RCs. Each RC consists of 5 to 6 questions. A total of 15-18 questions were asked in the RCs.
  • Synonyms and Antonyms included 5-6 questions.
  • Topics with the highest weightage were RC, Synonyms & Antonyms, and Idioms and Phrases.

The mathematics paper was moderate to difficult. The NCERT Mathematics textbook is sufficient to score well in the exam. 

Students must manage their time well, as most aspirants faced time management issues. This can be done by practising mock tests and sample papers as much as possible.

General Test

Aspirants considered the General Test (GT) easy. Current Affair was the most important part of the GT. The aspirants stated that a thorough knowledge of current affairs and the general knowledge questions are very important to ace this subject.

Candidates are advised to focus majorly on NCERT books, and mock tests as most of the syllabus and the questions asked from this are from NCERT textbooks.
